FAQS
FAQs
How often should I come for treatment?
As a new patient, it is generally recommended that you schedule a follow up appointment at least every two weeks. Each patient is unique, so the frequency of your visits may vary.
Do you prescribe herbs? How safe are the herbs you prescribe?
The herbs we recommend have been hand selected by Dr. Nan Lu and have been developed according to ancient Chinese formulas. They are non-toxic, and can be taken with any other medications. If you are taking herbs in pill form, it is recommended that you take them with warm water two times a day: once in the morning on an empty stomach, and again in the evening after dinner. Our herbs should be taken an hour prior to any other medications.
Are your treatments covered by insurance?
We do not have direct contact with insurance companies but we can provide an invoice with procedure codes for you to submit to your provider for reimbursement.
What's included in the first session?
During your first visit, you'll experience a comprehensive interview and TCM intake examination. Nan Lu Acupuncture, LLP practitioners will work with you to identify a treatment plan based on your unique physical and emotional conditions, your energy, and spiritual purpose. Do you use disposable needles?
Yes. It is state law that we do all acupuncture in a completely sterile environment, using our needles only once.
How does acupuncture work?
By stimulating meridians, or the body's invisible energy pathways, acupuncture can help the body function at a consciousness level to regain its healing ability. Acupuncture uses very thin needles to stimulate a specific point or points to help Qi or vital energy flow throughout the body. While acupuncture treatments can help you unblock energy stagnation from a functional perspective, a well-trained practitioner can actually help you gain energy.
